Crookie (Croissant Cookie) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 6 butter croissants

  • 170g unsalted butter, melted

  • 100g granulated sugar

  • 150g brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 280g all-purpose flour

  • 200g chocolate chips (or more if desired)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Cookie Dough:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Whisk until smooth.

    • Add the egg, salt, baking soda, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully incorporated.

    • Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until a dough forms.

    • Stir in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

    • Wrap the cookie dough in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes to firm up slightly.

  2. Prepare the Croissants:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • While the dough is chilling, cut each butter croissant in half horizontally.

  3. Stuff the Croissants:

    • Once the dough has chilled, take small portions (about 1-2 tablespoons each) and roll them into small balls.

    • Stuff each croissant with cookie dough balls, placing them inside the croissant. For an extra indulgent touch, press a few more cookie dough balls on the top surface of the croissants.

  4. Bake the Crookies:

    • Place the stuffed croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

    • Bake in the preheated oven for exactly 10 minutes. The croissants should become slightly golden and the cookie dough should start to set while remaining gooey.

  5. Serve:

    • Remove the crookies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.

    • Enjoy them warm for the ultimate melty, buttery, and chocolatey experience!

These crookies combine the flaky, buttery layers of a croissant with the soft, chewy texture of a cookie creating an irresistible treat that’s perfect for any occasion.
