Ingredients:

  • 15 Oreo cookies

  • 1 cup pancake mix

  • 2/3 cup milk

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Batter:
In a mixing bowl, combine the pancake mix, milk, egg, and vanilla extract (if using). Whisk until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.

  2. Heat the Oil:
Pour the vegetable oil into a deep frying pan or a deep fryer. Heat the oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). You can test this by dropping a small amount of batter into the oil; if it sizzles and rises to the top, it's ready.

  3. Coat the Oreos:
Dip each Oreo into the batter, making sure it's fully coated. Use a fork or a slotted spoon to gently lift the Oreo out of the batter, letting any excess drip off.

  4. Fry the Oreos:
Carefully place the battered Oreos into the hot oil. Fry them for about 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown on all sides.

  5. Drain and Serve:
Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried Oreos from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

  6. Finish with Powdered Sugar:
Dust the fried Oreos with powdered sugar while they're still warm. Serve immediately, and enjoy the gooey, sweet treat!
